After joining the ColorStack @ UCSD community and applying for the outreach chair position, I quickly learned during the interview that a goal for ColorStack was to build their very first website. I knew ColorStack was only 2 years old, but I was astonished that a club of software engineers didn't have a website to begin with. I shuffled a bit in my chair but blurted out, 'I can build that for us.' She took a quick glance at my resume and agreed. Later the next day, I received an email that I didn't get the outreach position, but that instead the board would take me in as the Web Dev Lead whose primary responsibility was to build and maintain ColorStack's first website. Fast forward 2 weeks later and voilà - I couldn't do it without the amazing tech stack, Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and the amazing community of ColorStack @ UCSD who helped me along the way in every which way. I'm proud to say that ColorStack @ UCSD now has a website that they can be proud of and use to showcase their community, events, values, and the incredible impact they're making in the tech industry. It's wild to think that what started as a casual comment during an interview turned into building the first digital home for this amazing community.
